Phone Bhoot, starring Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi, was supposed to be released on 15 July. But according to a note from the makers, the film will arrive in theatres on 7 October.

Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner Excel Entertainment, the film has been directed by Gurmmeet Singh. The filmmaker has the acclaimed web-series Inside Edge and Mirzapur to his credit. Both shows were produced by Excel Entertainment.

The makers announced the new release date with a quirky poster that depicts the three actors and a number of ghosts in the background.

Phone Bhoot marks Kaif, Khatter and Chaturvedi's first project together. Kaif is much more senior that the actors as she has been working in the film industry for almost 20 years.

By postponing the film's release, the makers of Phone Bhoot have averted a three-way clash with the Taapsee Pannu-starrer Shabaash Mithu and HIT: The First Case starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra.

Directed by Srijit Mukherji, Shabaash Mithu is a based on the life of former Indian women’s team captain Mithali Raj. HIT, on the other hand, is the official Hindi remake of the successful Telugu film of the same name

Rohit Shetty’s Ranveer Singh-starrer Cirkus was on course to clash with Phone Bhoot on 15 July but it later got postponed to 23 December.
