Ranveer Singh’s Cirkus to clash with Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Phone Bhoot

Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus, which stars Ranveer Singh, will clash with Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter’s Phone Bhoot on 15 July 2022.

The news was shared by veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Twitter. 

Cirkus is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic comedy The Comedy of Errors. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez and Varun Sharma. 

Cirkus marks Singh and Shetty's third collaboration after Simmba (2018) and Sooryavanshi (2021), although the actor made a cameo in the latter film along with Ajay Devgn. Cirkus was earlier supposed to be released this winter of this year. 

Singh also has 83 (2021) and Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022) in the pipeline.  

Phone Bhoot is a horror-comedy produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. The film, which has been directed by Gurmmeet Singh, marks Chaturvedi’s third collaboration with the banner after the cricket-based web-series Inside Edge and Zoya Akhtar’s directorial venture Gully Boy (2019).

Apart from Phone Bhoot, Kaif has also signed up for Jee Le Zara alongside Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt. That film will mark Farhan Akhtar’s return to film direction after Don 2 (2011).
