Anushka Sharma's home production Pari, which also stars Parambrata Chatterjee, has added National Award-winner Anupam Roy as the music composer. A co-production between Sharma's Clean Slate Films, KriArj Entertainment and Kyta Productions, the film has already begun shooting. The film's first look was released a week ago and featured a gaunt and haunted-looking Sharma on the poster.

Anupam Roy, also a lyricist and singer, began his career in Bengali cinema in 2010 and is best known for his work on Shoojit Sircar's Piku (2015). He won the Filmfare Award for best background score for his work on the film. Afterwards, he also composed two songs on Pink (2016), which is produced by Sircar.

He was honoured with the National Award for best lyrics for 'Tumi Jaake Bhalobasho' for Praktan (2016) starring Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta.

In a statement, Anupam Roy talked about his newest project, "I am really excited to be a part of Pari. I am very fond of the team and looking forward to create a melodious sound track."

The release date for Pari, directed by first-time filmmaker Prosit Roy, hasn't been set as of yet but the film is likely to release in 2018.
