Nargis Fakhri

Nargis Fakhri was born to a Pakistani father and Czech mother in New York on 20 October 1979. She did an internship as a student-teacher in her final year of college, where she was studying for a degree in Psychology and Fine Arts, as she planned to become a teacher. The internship, however, made her believe she was not ready for the profession and so she turned to modelling. She had to struggle for a while before finally appearing on America's Next Top Model Cycles 2 and 3 in 2004. Five years later, she posed in a bikini for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar 2009. The pretty model made her Hindi film debut with Imtiaz Ali's musical romantic drama Rockstar (2011). The film fared well and Nargis Fakhri's sizzling chemistry with co-star Ranbir Kapoor won them the ‘Hottest Pair’ at the International Indian Film Academy Awards in 2012. Her next significant role was in Shoojit Sircar’s Madras Café (2013) with John Abraham. She also featured in an ‘item song’ in the action-comedy Phata Poster Nikla Hero (2013). Her dance performance was appreciated. Nargis Fakhri's third film was with Varun Dhawan in David Dhawan’s Main Tera Hero (2014), which got a mixed reception from critics as well as audiences. She then danced again to an ‘item song’ in the Salman Khan-starrer Kick (2014). Besides Hindi cinema, Nargis Fakhri was seen in the Hollywood movie Spy (2015).
