Sarkarnama

Vishwas Salunkhe (Ajinkya Deo), an assistant municipal commissioner in Mumbai, finds that some chawls are in a dilapidated state and unfit for habitation. He serves notice on the residents to vacate, but they don’t want to leave. One chawl collapses and Salunkhe is in a difficult position. Chief minister Uttamrao Deshmukh (Yashwant Dutt) gets involved and asks Salunkhe to give him all documents relating to the issue. Salunkhe is transferred to the village of the CM’s future daughter-in-law. There, he learns that ancestral homes of people are being sold for the construction of electric towers. Meanwhile, the documents relating to the chawls have disappeared from the CM’s office, but Salunkhe, now suspended from duty, learns that there is a copy at the CM’s residence where his son is getting married. During a photo shoot, news correspondent Subodh Gore (Ashutosh Gowariker) discovers a strange thing but is killed. The mystery unfolds amidst corruption and intense power play.
