The announcement of Indra Kumar’s next titled Thank God (2022) and its cast of Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh kept the audience intrigued on what its subject might be.
Now Devgn's poster has revealed that he plays lord Chitragupt in the movie. It features the actor seated with attitude on a golden, gleaming throne backlight with brilliant lighting. Chitragupt is a mythological character but this film shows him in a modern manner, dressed up in a black suit and dark glasses.

For those who may not be aware, Chitragupt keeps the records of the karma of the people of earth and rewards or punishes them according to their actions.
The makers have also shared Malhotra's character posters from the film. The actor plays a common man juggling weighty issues like pride and delusion, anger and greed, amongst other sins. Singh's character is yet to be revealed.

Earlier in the year, Anand Pandit, one of the producers of the film, spoke about the film’s subject in an exclusive chat with Cinestaan.com. “This is a slice-of-life type of a film,” he had said. “It’s on the lines of Rajkumar Hirani’s movies where there is humour as well as a message. So it’s not a comedy film. It has a lot of humour but it also has a beautiful message. As soon as I heard the story, I told Indra ji let’s make this.”
Chitragupt will be clashing with the Akshay Kumar-starrer Ram Setu (2022) on 25 October during the Diwali festivities. The trailer of the film will be unveiled on 9 September.
