Code Name: Tiranga, starring Parineeti Chopra and Harrdy Sandhu, to be released on 14 October

Parineeti Chopra will play a research and intelligence wing (R&AW) officer in the upcoming espionage thriller Code Name: Tiranga (2022). Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, the film also stars Punjabi singer-actor Harrdy Sandhu opposite her. 

Throwing more light on the film, a statement from the makers said, “An espionage action thriller, Code Name: Tiranga is a story of a spy on an unfaltering and fearless mission for her nation in a race against time where sacrifice is her only choice. Parineeti Chopra will be playing a [R&AW] agent who is on an exhilarating journey across many countries. While Harrdy Sandhu, who is an established and sought-after singer, will surprise the audience by his acting prowess in the film.” 

Dasgupta’s last was a mystery thriller The Girl On The Train (2021), which also starred Chopra in the lead. After debuting with Te3n (2016), he had helmed Netflix’s action web-series Bard Of Blood (2019). 

Speaking about the film, Dasgupta said, “I am glad to announce my next film Code Name: Tiranga; set to release in cinemas this 14 October. I hope the audiences enjoy this action entertainer which talks about a soldier’s sacrifice in the line of duty for her nation.” 

Sandhu was last seen in Kabir Khan’s well-acclaimed cricket drama 83 (2021). Chopra also has Sooraj Barjatya's family drama Uunchai (2002) with Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Boman Irani due to be released in November.

Code Name: Tiranga is due to be released in theatres on 14 October.
