The collections of Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra Part One: Shiva (2022) on its second Friday, which was yesterday, were crucial to determine whether the film would eventually reach the Rs200 crore mark.

The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer has seen a surprising jump in numbers yesterday. The original Hindi version of the movie made Rs8.25 crore in the day, as per figures shared by the trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com. The film’s number on the previous day was Rs7.75 crore.

The movie’s total in the original language currently is Rs154.50 crore. It has also performed decent in its dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada by amassing Rs19 crore so far. This takes the overall total of Brahmastra to a healthy Rs173.50 crore in all languages.

As said a few times before, the large number earned by Brahasmtra doesn’t ensure that it’s a hit because its cost of production, as per our sources, is enormous at Rs400 crore. However, it is just the fourth Hindi film in the nine months of this year to surpass Rs100 crore after Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022), The Kashmir Files (2022) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022)

Yesterday saw a long list of new Hindi films released in theatres – Matto Ki Saikil (2022), Siya (2022), Jahaan Chaar Yaar (2022), Middle-Class Love (2022), Saroj Ka Rishta (2022) and Khalli Balli (2022). However, all of them have gone unnoticed at the box office.
