Manava Naik plays Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s wife in Shivpratap Garudzep

Manava Naik will be making a comeback in the upcoming historical drama Shivpratap Garudzep (2022). The film sees Dr Amol Kolhe in the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Naik will be seen playing his wife Soyarabai Mohite. 

The makers have revealed her look in the film. Naik appears vibrant in the rich green and orange saree, along with a dash of ornaments. 

Sharing her reaction at bagging the film, Naik said in a statement, “I am making a comeback after a hiatus in an important role and that too in a historical movie. Hence, I am excited for this movie. It is a big thing for me to get to play an iconic lady on screen. I am sure the audience will appreciate me in this role. I have got the satisfaction of playing a different character in this movie.” 

Directed by Kartik Rajaram Kendhe, Shivpratap Garudzep is about one of the important chapters of Maratha history where Shivaji Maharaj and his son Sambhaji escape from Aurangzeb’s clutches from Agra after being held captive by him. Yatin Karyekar will be playing the antagonist in the movie, which is produced by Kolhe himself. 

Shivpratap Garudzep is to be released in theatres on the festival of Dussehra on 5 October. The film will be clashing at the box office with the Shreyas Talpade and Mukta Barve-starrer Aapdi Thaapdi (2022).
