Sharing his thoughts at the announcement, Mohanty said, “Today, Marathi cinema is no longer regional. It has made a mark at the international level. Marathi cinema is also like Bollywood [commercial Hindi cinema]. That’s why we came up with this project. It will go a long way and today will be a historic day for Marathi cinema.”

One of the biggest movies to be launched was Mahesh Manjrekar’s Niravadhi which sees him teaming up with Subodh Bhave for the first time. “It is everyone’s dream to work with Mahesh,” Bhave shared. “The same was with me ever since I started working in this field. The wish has now finally come true. I haven’t got a lot of love stories in my career. I am known for doing biopics. I am the hero and I am my own heroine in such films.”

Through this film, Bhave will also team up with Upendra Limaye for the first time. “I have been an old friend of Upendra,” he said. “We used to share the same room when we migrated to Mumbai. But this is the first time we are working together. He is one of my favourite actors, from whom I have been learning a lot. It’s a joy to have got to work with him.”

Motion Content Group will look after the marketing and monetization of these seven films.
