While the trailer of Prithviraj and the song ‘Hari Har’, which was released a few days ago, have left audiences impressed, the makers have now dropped the teaser of a new song, ‘Hadd Kar De’.

Interestingly, the entire track can only be seen along with the rest of the film in cinemas. This seems quite justified, considering the spectacular visuals.

The music in the 47-second teaser stays with you, and it is quite a catchy number. Composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and featuring vocals by Neeti Mohan and folk singer Keerthi Sagathia, the song has a festive vibe and makes for a perfect Holi number.

Lead actor Akshay Kumar is elated by the fact that all the songs from the film are original compositions, which is a rarity in today’s times. He said, “What I love about the songs in our film based on Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’s life is that they are all original music! Today, hardly any film can boast of this and I love the album dearly because the songs are not in the film just for the sake of it.”

Surrounded by a horde of background dancers, newcomer Manushi Chillar, who plays princess Sanyogita in the film, dances like a dream to Vaibhavi Merchant’s choreography. The gulaal, the palatial set and lotus-filled ponds make ‘Hadd Kar De’ a visual treat.

Speaking about his character's bond with Sanyogita, Akshay said, “Theirs was a relationship of equals and I love that both parties strived to have a straight-forward relationship that was built on trust, mutual admiration and respect. It is a crucial song that shows the pure relationship that the two share and tells the audiences to see the film also as a romance and not just an epic historical film.”

Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi efforts to portray the culture of Rajasthan are on full display. For instance, the background dancers can be seen wearing ‘faaguniya’ a saree worn by the women of Rajasthan during Holi.

Akshay can also be seen wearing a bandhej turban and a white outfit. The vibe of the song is tied to the culture of Mewar, since the film is about Prithviraj Chauhan, a 12th-century warrior who ruled from present-day Ajmer in Rajasthan.

Prithviraj is set to be released on 3 June. Let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
