After collecting over Rs400 crore nett in India, the Hindi version of Prashanth Neel’s Kannada movie KGF: Chapter 2 has emerged as the highest overseas Hindi grosser in recent times.

According to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com, the Yash-starrer has made $9 million — or about Rs69.54 crore — in 22 days overseas in this language.

Before KGF: Chapter 2, Kabir Khan’s cricket drama 83 (2021), which made $8.5 million, was the highest-grossing Hindi film globally. Interestingly, the film did not do as well in India as its makers had hoped.

The third film on the list is Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi (2021), which managed to collect $8.35 million overseas.

Of the $9 million collected by KFG: Chapter 2 abroad, $3.4 million has come from North America and $2.1 million from the Persian Gulf region.

Meanwhile, the Hollywood movie Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness saw another fall in numbers on Tuesday in India, earning Rs6.25 crore. Despite the fall, the film has made Rs93 crore in its first five days in theatres.

The Doctor Strange sequel is also the sixth highest-grossing Hollywood film in India after Avengers: Endgame (2019), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Spiderman: No Way Home (2021), The Jungle Book (2016) and The Lion King (2019).
