Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi continued to fare well at the box office on its second Monday, earning Rs3.25 crore nett, as per figures shared by the trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.

The Alia Bhatt-starrer collected Rs25 crore in the first four days of the second week of its theatrical run and is likely to make Rs30 crore by Thursday. If that happens, Gangubai Kathiawadi will be the second Hindi film to collect over Rs30 crore in its second week in recent times after Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi (2021).

The grand total of Gangubai Kathiawadi stands at Rs91.97 crore against a budget of Rs110 crore. The film seems likely to enter the Rs100 crore club. But it won’t be the first project film led by Bhatt to have this distinction. The actress's spy drama Raazi (2018), which was directed by Meghna Gulzar, finished at Rs122 crore.

Gangubai Kathiawadi has hardly been affected by the release of the Hollywood movie The Batman, although it hasn’t done badly at the Indian box office. After making Rs2.50 crore yesterday, the superhero film has so far collected an impressive Rs24.25 crore in India.

The release of Radhe Shyam (2022) and The Kashmir Files this week is expected to impact both Gangubai Kathiawadi and The Batman.
