Yash Raj Films has announced that Tiger 3, the third instalment of Salman Khan's Tiger franchise, will arrive on 21 April 2023, the Eid weekend.
Since the release of Wanted (2009), almost all of the superstar's films have been released on the festival.
Tiger 3 will star Salman alongside Katrina Kaif, with Emraan Hashmi taking on the role of the antagonist.
The makers announced the release date of the much-awaited film on social media on Friday, with Kaif and Salman both showing up in the teaser.
The teaser begins with a focussed Kaif practising her action moves, while a covered Salman takes a nap. Done with her preparation, the actress walks over to Salman and asks him if he is ready. In his typical style, Salman growls, "Tiger is always ready", cueing the announcement.
This will be the actor's first Eid release in theatres since COVID reared its ugly head; his action film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai (2021) was premiered online.
The other films in the Tiger franchise are Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Ali Abbas Zafar's Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). The third film will be directed by Maneesh Sharma, who is also producing the upcoming Ranveer Singh-led Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022).
Yash Raj Films will also release the Shah Rukh Khan-led Pathaan in 2023. Incidentally, the action film will reportedly see Salman make a special appearance.
