Shamshera (2022) is a larger-than-life period drama and the makers have made sure the visuals are totally worth a theatrical view. That’s evident from the film’s trailer itself and no wonder, the film is also set to release in IMAX.

The newly released song from the film, ‘Fitoor’ is visually stunning amidst the mountains and beaches with the period drama vibes. One can only imagine how beautiful this lavishly shot song will look on the big screen.

But apart from the visuals being a major USP of the song, ‘Fitoor’ is a melodious track with so much soul. Mithoon does a fine job with this composition and the vocals by Neeti Mohan and Arijit Singh stir the strings of our heart. But that apart, what’s also noteworthy are the lyrics penned by director Karan Malhotra itself.

Somehow, the song stays with you, you’d want to not just hear it again but also see it several times for its breathtaking visual appeal and the chemistry between the lead pair – Vaani Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. The song would perhaps make for a soothing therapy whilst on a drive on a romantic rainy day in Mumbai as far as the choreography is concerned, one can't miss out on some contemporary style lifts with the perfect toes aced by Vaani.

Ranbir Kapoor who is returning on the big screen after four years expressed that he loved this song since music has played such an important part of all his movies. “Not to put remixes down, they have their own place in the world and the audiences enjoy it. But, I like to be part of original things, ideas, original stories and especially, original music. I have been so fortunate that a lot of my success and popularity has come through the music of my films,” he said.

The actor also further added that he’s worked with some great composers and singers in his career. “May it be Mohit Chauhan, or Arijit Singh, or Pritam, or AR Rahman or all the different musicians that I have worked with, they’ve really been instrumental in my growth as an actor and as a star. With Shamshera that’s another step. I love 'Fitoor'. It’s a lovely romantic track, the quintessential love song that I hope people also love. The scale of 'Fitoor' is just insane and it will look grand on the big screen.”

The high-octane magnum opus is set in the 1800s in the heartland of India. Directed by Karan Malhotra, the film is set to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on 22 July.
