Malayankunju trailer: Fahadh Faasil gets trapped in a landslide in this survival thriller


Helmed by first time director Sajimon Prabhakar, the film is slated to hit screens on 22 July.

Fahadh Faasil's latest is an intense survival thriller titled Malayankunju (2022). The new trailer of the film immediately grabs your attention with its visuals. 

The trailer begins by showing Fahadh as an electrician who gets irritated a baby's constant wailing next door. But later he is trapped in a landslide caused by a heavy downpour. Now he is the only person who could save the life of an infant. 

The first thing that immediately grabs your attention is the lighting and cinematography. The trailer makes it clear that the film has succeeded in creating a sense of claustrophobia. The trailer does an excellent job of building up the tension with the efficient use of lighting and sound design. Without giving away anything significant about the actual plot of the film, the trailer build a level of suspense, curiosity and uneasiness. 

Renowned filmmaker-editor Mahesh Narayanan, who has teamed up with Fahadh for Take Off (2017), CU Soon (2020), and Maalik (2021), has penned the script for the film, which also marks his debut as cinematographer. The film's music has been composed by AR Rahman, who is making his comeback to Malayalam cinema after nearly three decades.

Produced by Fazil, Fahadh's father and filmmaker, and helmed by first-time filmmaker Sajimon, Malaykunju is due to be released theatrically on 22 July. Check out the trailer below and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
