The Vidyut Jammwal-starrer Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 Agni Pariksha (2022) has had a below-average first week at the box office. The Faruk Kabir film has been able to earn only Rs9.70 crore nett, according to the trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.

Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 made Rs5.75 crore in its opening weekend. Following this, the film needed to keep up with its momentum in order to be a safe bet for the producers. The movie did not collapse on the weekdays, which has been the case with a lot of Hindi films this year, but its numbers weren’t as good as per the requirement.

As per our trade sources, Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 is made at a budget of around Rs25 crore. Despite the moderate budget, the film, which also stars Shivaleeka Oberoi, doesn’t stand much chance of surpassing that number.

On the other hand, Raj Mehta’s Jugjugg Jeeyo had an average third week at the ticket window as it made Rs6.25 crore in the period. The Varun Dhawan-, Kiara Advani-, Anil Kapoor- and Neetu Kapoor-starrer has so far made a decent total of Rs75.42 crore, against a budget of Rs90 to Rs95 crore.

Box office special: Hopes pinned on second half of 2022 after first half delivers more misses than hits

Jugjugg Jeeyo has been one of the rare films in 2022 to reach this number as the year has been forgettable for the Hindi film industry so far.

The two new Hindi films released today, Shabaash Mithu (2022) and HIT: The First Case (2022), aren’t expected to get a favourable opening.
