Jaideep Ahlawat joins Ayushmann Khurrana on Aanand L Rai's An Action Hero

Jaideep Ahlawat has joined the cast of Anirudh Iyer's An Action Hero. Led by Ayushmann Khurrana, the film is produced by Aanand L Rai's Colour Yellow Productions and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series Films.

The makers shared the announcement of Ahlawat's addition to the cast with the last image implying that the actor will rival Khurrana's hero.

From the introduction teaser, it looks like Ahlawat will play a wrestler-turned-politician on the wrong side of the law. Ahlawat was most recently seen in the SonyLIV anthology, Tryst With Destiny (2021).

An Action Hero was announced in October 2021 and is written by Anirudh Iyer and Neeraj Yadav. The film is a quirky action thriller marking Iyer's directorial debut.

The film will see Khurrana take on the role of an action hero forced to face similar situations outside of his reel life. It is the first action-orientated film for Ayushmann Khurrana.

Ahlawat, meanwhile, is also part of Shaad Ali's adaptation of the British series, Guilt, alongside Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Tina Desai, Mugdha Godse and Satish Kaushik.
