Actress Daisy Shah has made her entry into Marathi cinema through a song appearance in the upcoming movie Daagdi Chaawl 2 (2022).

The track ‘Raghu Pinjryat Aala’ is sung by Mugdha Karhade and composed by Amitraj; the lyrics are penned by Kshitij Patwardhan. 

Speaking about casting Shah in the song, producer Sangeeta Ahir said in a statement, “As soon as we decided to include this song in the movie, I instantly visualized Daisy Shah in it. We approached her and she instantly agreed. We are happy to see a Hindi film actress willingly agreeing to work in a Marathi film. The team behind the song is so terrific that Daisy’s fans will surely love the track. This song is sure to force everyone to tap their feet.”

“Kshitij Patwardhan’s energetic lyrics needed the same level of composition,” composer Amitraj stated. “Mugdha has given complete justice to this song. Daisy’s free-flowing dance has added more life in the track. People won’t be able to stop themselves from shaking a leg after listening to this song.” 

Directed by Chandrakant Kanse, Daagdi Chaawl 2 is the second film in the franchise after the first one released in 2015. The film carries forward the cast of Ankush Chaudhari, Pooja Sawant and Makarand Deshpande. The movie is loosely based on the real-lif gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli, whose character is essayed by Deshpande. 

Daagdi Chaawl 2 is due to be released in theatres on 18 August.
