Dhanush’s Lone Wolf to return for Netflix’s The Gray Man sequel

The Indian actor will join Ryan Gosling in the action sequel directed by the Russo brothers.

Dhanush’s Lone Wolf will return for Netflix’s The Gray Man sequel. The Indian actor confirmed his presence in the sequel alongside Ryan Gosling’s Sierra Six.

In an Instagram post, the actor channelled his Lone Wolf character and stated, “Six, this is Lone Wolf, I hear we are both looking for the same man. I want to offer you some advice. Stop looking, you are wasting your time. Because if I find him first, there will be nothing left for you to look for and if you find him first, then I will find you. Nothing personal.”

The Gray Man (2022), co-directed by Joe and Anthony Russo Brothers, has been trending at number one in 93 countries since its launch on 22 July. The action caper, which also starred Ana de Armas, Chris Evans and Rege Jean Page, has been viewed for 96.47 million hours till date.

The sequel was announced soon after the film’s debut on the streaming platform.

Talking about the development of the sequel, the Russo had shared in a statement, “The audience reaction to The Gray Man has been nothing short of phenomenal. We are so appreciative of the enthusiasm that fans across the world have had for this film. With so many amazing characters in the movie, we had always intended for The Gray Man to be part of an expanded universe, and we are thrilled that Netflix is announcing a sequel with Ryan, as well as a second script that we’re excited to talk about soon.”

When the co-directors were presenting The Gray Man in India along with Dhanush, the filmmakers also hinted that there could be potential for a Lone Wolf spin-off in the future. “We hope that we get to tell more stories with this character. We like to keep our options open on where we can go with [Lone Wolf],” Anthony Russo had said at a press conference in Mumbai.

The Gray Man is now streaming on Netflix.
