Malayalam actor-producer Vijay Babu charged with sexual assault, names complainant in Facebook Live session 

The woman alleged that she was harassed on multiple occasions by the actor in a flat in Kochi.

Malayalam actor-producer Vijay Babu has been charged with sexual assault. The Ernakulam South police have registered the case on the basis of a woman’s complaint, which was made on 22 April.

The complainant alleged that she was assaulted on multiple occasions by the actor in a flat in Kochi. 

She added that Vijay Babu sexually assaulted her on the pretext of offering her film roles. Vijay is yet to be arrested or questioned in this regard.

In a surprising turn of events, Vijay went live on Facebook and reportedly disclosed the name of the complainant, claiming that he was the victim. According to the website Onmanorama, Vijay said he would file a defamation case and that he was willing to face the consequences after revealing the name of the complainant. 

The report stated that Vijay said that he would not let the complainant get away easily. 

Vijay Babu produces films under the banner Friday Film House. He also won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Children’s Film, as producer, for Philips and The Monkey Pen (2013).
