Heropanti 2 song 'Whistle Baja 2.0': AR Rahman composition lacks zing

The dance number features lyrics by Mebhoob and vocals by Mika Singh and Neeti Mohan.

The makers of Heropanti 2 are back with another dance number that probably has nothing to do with the film. The song 'Whistle Baja 2.0' is your typical substandard dance number whose sole purpose is to create some buzz around the film just for a few days before its release.

Composed by AR Rahman, the revamp begins with Tiger Shroff emerging from a sea of background dancers. Before he proceeds to shake a leg, he makes sure to show off his eight pack. The background dancers are shown playing the drums, but for some reason, we don't hear the beat at the beginning.

Suddenly midway, Shroff conjures up Kriti Sanon on the stage. The actress made her Hindi debut opposite Shroff in Heropanti (2014). Towards the end, we even get to see Shroff going solo as he tries to impress with his dance steps. But even the choreography of this song leaves a lot to be desired.

Rahman tries to add some zing to this insipid composition with the use of heavy percussion, but this trick is not enough to salvage this poor track. The number features vocals by Mika Singh and Neeti Mohan, but both singers have failed to create magic. Mehboob's lyrics are also unimaginative.

Heropanti 2, which has been directed by Sajid Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, is due to be released on 29 April alongside Ajay Devgan's Runway 34.

Check out the song below and let us know if you are keen to see the film.
