The music album of Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming film X=Prem was unveiled at an event at the Lord of the Drinks restaurant in Kolkata on 8 April in the presence of the lead cast, music team and director.
Starring Arjun Chakraborty and Madhurima Basak, along with newcomers Anindya Sengupta and Shruti Das, X=Prem promises a musical romantic journey which tells the story of four different individuals connected by the strings of love.
The album of X=Prem has six tracks composed by Sanai who is making his debut. Singers Shreya Ghoshal, Arijit Singh, Sahana Bajpaie and Samantak Sinha are among those who have given their voices for the songs. The song ‘Raikishori’ has been penned by the director himself while the rest of the numbers have been written by Dhrubojyoti Chakrabarty and Barish.
Excited about the album release, Mukherji said, “Whenever I make a film, I always try to work on something which is different. My constant focus remains on giving something new to the audience.”
The National award-winning director added that this time he wanted to try a different genre infusing science and love together and that’s how X=Prem shaped up.
“I believe music plays a very important part while dealing with romance." Mukherji said. "I am highly satisfied with the music of X=Prem and the credit for these six beautiful tracks goes to our composer Sanai.”
Ghoshal has rendered the song 'Bhalobashar Morshum', which has another version by Arijit Singh, from the album. Excited about the music launch, she said, “The music composed by Sanai is astounding. I am sure the melodious tune of this song will be loved by listeners. It has been a few years since I last worked with Srijit and I am quite happy that we worked together for the album of X=Prem.”
Ghoshal added, "The treatment of this film is unique and the black-and-white tone of the movie is something I am really looking forward to."
X=Prem deals with the complexities of human emotions and selflessness of love as well as the pain one has to face in life. Produced by SVF Entertainment, X=Prem will be released in theatres on 13 May.
