Cyrus Sahukar and Ira Dubey play Vikrant and Akanksha Shastri in the upcoming light-hearted family drama Potluck on SonyLIV. The two are reuniting after nearly 12 long years; they had co-starred in Rajshree Ojha’s Aisha (2010), which starred Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol.

In Potluck, the Shastris are part of one big happy family that gets together for a weekly family potluck meal. The couple has three young children – a daughter named Zia and twins Naksh and Saisha. The show reunites Sahukar and Dubey with their Aisha director Ojha.

“Cyrus Sahukar and Rajshree were among the first reasons why I agreed to the show,” Dubey said. “Even as recently as a few days ago, when I posted a photo with Cyrus, some speculated that Pinky and Randhir [their characters from Aisha] are coming together. We had a great time shooting for Aisha and now with Potluck, to be honest, it feels like another lifetime. Cyrus is a fantastic person to work with and one of the funniest men I've ever met; he was the one who made everyone on set happy, and I adore his sense of humour.”

Sahukar added, “I have worked with Ira before, and with Potluck I was really nice to reunite with her and Rajshree after almost 10-12 years. Not only that, the camaraderie with [the] cast on the set was so jovial and crazy. The show is truly a celebration of the ‘relatable moments of life’. The show truly attempts to make us smile with families together.”

Potluck, which also stars Jatin Sial, Kitu Gidwani, Shikha Talsania, Harman Singha, Saloni Khanna, and Siddhant Karnick, is due to be released on 10 September.
