Director Milan Luthria’s Tadap, a remake of the Telugu movie RX 100 (2018), is the launch vehicle for veteran actor Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan. And it seems that’s the only thing that the makers wanted to convey through the film’s trailer.

It’s difficult to make out the story from the close-to-three-minute footage. From the promo, it seems this is the story of a guy [Ahan] who falls in love with a young woman, played by Tara Sutaria. He is shown to be a tough guy while his love interest is pretty and soft-hearted. So original!

It seems that due to some twist in the tale, the guy gets angry and has to fight various baddies in order to be with Sutaria's character forever.

The clip is disjointed tonally as it alternates between romantic scenes and fight sequences, which prove overwhelming for the viewer what with the recent release of the over-the-top Satyameva Jayate 2 and Antim: The Final Truth trailers.

The positive part here is that Ahan shows screen presence and he seems to be good in fight sequences and when it comes to emoting. Sutaria also fits the bill for such a character. The song being played in the trailer also appears promising.

Written by Rajat Arora [Luthria’s favourite] and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Tadap will be released in theatres on 3 December.

Check out the trailer and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
