Netflix to premiere Ray anthology series on 25 June, see teaser


Directed by Srijit Mukherji, Vasan Bala and Abhishek Chaubey, the series contains four segments that include Ali Fazal, KK Menon, Manoj Bajpayee, Gajraj Rao and Harshvardhan Kapoor.

The birth centenary of the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray is being celebrated in many ways this year. Netflix is paying homage to the auteur with an anthology series based on his short stories.

The anthology series is due to be released on 25 June. The four stories are directed by Srijit Mukherji, Vasan Bala and Abhishek Chaubey, and feature actors Ali Fazal, KK Menon, Manoj Bajpayee, Gajraj Rao and Harshvardhan Kapoor.

The first teaser for the series shows us but a glimpse of what lies ahead, with snapshots of actors in their segments. Ali Fazal will feature in the story titled Forget Me Not while KK Menon headlines another titled Bahrupiya. Manoj Bajpayee and Gajraj Rao star in Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa while Harshvardhan Kapoor takes the lead in Spotlight. Some of the stories seem to be period pieces, while others have a modern touch.

The anthology is written by Niren Bhatt and Siraj Ahmed. Besides the actors mentioned above, the ensemble cast also features Radhika Madan, Shweta Basu Prasad, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Rajesh Sharma, Bidita Bag, Kharaj Mukherjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Shruthy Menon, Anindita Bose, Neeraj Purohit, Lovleen Misra, Raghubir Yadav and Manoj Pahwa.
