Anshuman Pratyush has resumed shooting for his film Nirbhaya, which is based on the notorious Delhi gang rape and murder case of 2012.

Lead actress Priyanka Sarkar today shared a few stills from the film on Twitter, writing that she is happy to get back to the floors.

Gaurav Chakrabarty and Sarkar will play the leads in the film, while Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Santilal Mukherjee and Sreelekha Mitra will be playing crucial supporting characters.

Though Pratyush hasn’t disclosed much about the film, both Sarkar and Chakrabarty can be seen in the avatar of lawyers in the photos shared on Twitter by the actress.

Pratyush started shooting for the film on 22 April but had to stop due to the sudden surge in COVID cases. As the number of active cases has come down in the past month after an extended lockdown, the state government allowed film and television shoots from 16 June with 50 unit members on the sets. On 23 June, Pratyush resumed shooting for Nirbhaya.

Pratyush’s other completed film, Baazi, featuring Jeet and Mimi Chakraborty, was supposed to be released this Eid in the month of May. However, due to the lockdown, the release has been postponed for the time being.
