Actress Nayanthara is likely to make her Hindi debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in a film by Atlee. The project, which has been in the news for close to two years now, is yet to be announced.

Nayanthara, who has worked in two films helmed by the filmmaker, was last seen in the Tamil comedy Mookuthi Amman (2020) in which she played a goddess.

She is awaiting the release of the Tamil thriller Netrikann, a remake of the Korean thriller Blind (2011).

Atlee had first opened up about a possible collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan on Twitter hours before the release of his Tamil sports film Bigil in 2019.

“I have a huge amount of love and respect for SRK sir and he also loves my work. Soon, hopefully, we will do something about it,” he had said.

According to rumours, Atlee and Shah Rukh are likely to join hands for a remake of the former's Tamil thriller Mersal (2017) in which Vijay played a triple role.

Some reports suggested that an announcement can be expected on Shah Rukh’s birthday — 2 November — but sources close to the star have said will take a while.
