The shooting for filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming Tamil action thriller Vikram, which stars Kamal Haasan, will resume at the end of July, according to a source.

The film’s title teaser video was unveiled last year in November.

Kamal Haasan will be joining the set for the first time since the project went on the floors briefly earlier this year.

The title teaser promised a feast of an entertainer. According to the source, Kamal Haasan plays a police officer on the trail of a serial killer. The film is being bankrolled by Raaj Kamal Films International.

When the project was announced, Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to write, "Another journey begins," and share the announcement poster.

Not long ago, it was rumoured that Rajinikanth would team up next with Lokesh Kanagaraj for an untitled Tamil project to be bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's banner. The film was expected to be officially launched last April. However, there is no update on the project yet.

After completing work on Vikram, Kamal Haasan will resume work on Indian 2, which marks his return as the freedom fighter-turned-vigilante Senapathy.

Indian 2, which is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions, also stars Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simhaa, Kajal Aggarwal and Priya Bhavani Shankar.

The first poster for Indian 2, which marks the reunion of Shankar and Kamal Haasan after two decades, was unveiled on Pongal in 2019. After wrapping up a major shooting portion in India, the team plans to travel to Taiwan to shoot key scenes.
