The Hindi film industry has been left bereaved by the death of veteran actor Dilip Kumar, whose passing marks the end of an era. Several prominent figures from the world of cinema such as Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Lata Mangeshkar, Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher and Akshay Kumar took to social media to offer condolences and hail the legend's artistry.

Referring to Dilip Kumar as an institution and an epochal figure in the history of Indian cinema, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan offered his condolences to the artiste's family.

Salman Khan eulogized the legend as simply the best actor Indian cinema has ever seen and will ever see.

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi mentioned the role the artiste unknowingly played in her formative years and praised his dignified presence on the silver screen and beyond.

Yesteryear actress and politician Hema Malini, who acted alongside Dilip Kumar, recalled their time together and offered her condolences to his wife.

Celebrated filmmaker Subhash Ghai termed the actor's passing the end of an era and hailed his legacy.

Akshay Kumar stated that Dilip Kumar was a hero to actors and offered his thoughts and prayers.

Legendary chanteuse Lata Mangeshkar expressed her sorrow, addressing the veteran actor as her elder brother.

Veteran singer Asha Bhosle offered her condolences and also expressed admiration for Saira Banu, who was constantly by Dilip Kumar's side.

Anupam Khar stated that the legend would live on and that the actor's performances were nothing short of magical.

Chiranjeevi, who has primarily starred in Telugu films, stated that he was deeply saddened by the actor who enthralled the world for several decades.
