Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman’s hit number 'Dhakka Laga Bukka' from Mani Ratnam’s Yuva (2004) has been reconceptualized as a youth anthem for Amazon Prime Video's upcoming political thriller web-series Tandav.

Given that Mani Ratnam's Yuva was a drama centred mostly around student politics, the song suits this series perfectly. The music video mostly focuses on a student leader, Shiva, played by Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and his political rise. Shiva is seen asking students to get on the streets and fight for their rights. He seems to be becoming a popular leader, as students throng college campuses to listen to his speeches.

Tandav is a political thriller that will explore the moral ambiguity and power struggles of Indian politics. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the series stars Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Kritika Kamra, Gauahar Khan, Sarah-Jane Dias, Sunil Grover, Dino Morea, Anuup Sonii, Kumud Mishra and Sandhya Mridul.

Tandav will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from 15 January.
