The Power trailer: Vidyut Jammwal continues to do what he does best

His on-screen persona helps Shruti Haasan's character exact revenge on her father's killers in this Mahesh Manjrekar film.

The trailer of Mahesh Manjrekar’s Hindi movie The Power starts off as a sweet love story between the Vidyut Jammwal and Shruti Haasan's characters, a married couple that seems to be deeply in love.

But everything changes after Haasan’s onscreen father dies in an accident. The young woman is sure he has been killed by a bad guy named Thakur. So she decides to finish off his entire family.

Later on, Jammwal’s character appears to be attempting to extricate his wife from the ensuing mess in a manner reminiscent of his previous film Khuda Haafiz (2020)

The issue is that there is a surfeit of scenes where the actor is seen beating up baddies and destroying furniture. In fact, you would be hard-pressed to name a more action-packed trailer, which makes it somewhat tough to gauge Jammwal and Haasan's performances.

The Power also stars Sachin Khedekar, Prateik Babbar, Jisshu Sengupta and Manjrekar himself.

The film will be premiered on ZeePlex on 14 January.
