Films revolving around a dance competition are predictable. Anybody can tell that the protagonist or the 'good people' will eventually triumph in the end against all odds. On top of this, the trailer of Stanley D’Costa’s Time to Dance, another such film, reveals almost the entire story.

The movie marks the debut of Katrina Kaif’s sister Isabelle. Her character Isha runs a dance academy in the United Kingdom and is simultaneously taking part in a dance competition with her partner William. Sooraj Pancholi also plays a passionate dancer who enters the scene from India. He gets a liking towards Isha but she already likes William.

Isha’s life comes to a sudden halt when she meets with an accident while dancing. She loses her dance partner and is compelled to give up on her dance academy. Pancholi’s character then steps in and turns out to be her saviour.

The trailer tries to cram in a lot in about two and a half minutes and ends up being messy. One positive takeaway, however, is the inclusion of ballroom and Latin dance steps, which, according to the makers, are being depicted for the first time in Indian cinema.

Kaif turns out to be a decent dancer but her acting skills are not up to the mark. Next to her, Pancholi, who is an average performer, appears flawless. Rajpal Yadav is also present as comic relief.

Time To Dance will be released in theatres on 12 March.
