The makers of Sanjay Gupta’s Mumbai Saga have revealed, via a poster, that the film will be released in theatres on 19 March. The poster depicts the leading man, John Abraham, toting two machine guns.

The tagline of the underworld saga reads – The shocking true story behind Bombay becoming Mumbai.

Although John’s face isn’t visible in the poster, his black attire and the firearms bring to mind the gangster Manya Surve whom he portrayed in Gupta’s Shootout At Wadala (2013). The film was a follow-up to Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007).

Mumbai Saga sees Emraan Hashmi play an encounter specialist cop. This is his second period underworld film after Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai (2010). The film also has an ensemble cast of Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Kajal Aggarwal, Gulshan Grover, Prateik Babbar, Amole Gupte, Mahesh Manjrekar and Rohit Roy.

Mumbai Saga is being produced by Gupta under his banner White Feather Films, T-Series' Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, Anuradha Gupta and Sangita Ahir.

The teaser of the film will be released tomorrow.
