After Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, which will be out in July, Ayushmann Khurrana, who was last seen in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (2020) and Gulabo Sitabo (2020), has another film lined up release this year. Anubhav Sinha’s action-thriller Anek (2021) will be released on 17 September.

Khurrana and Sinha reunite for Anek after the critically-acclaimed Article 15 (2019) which examined the deep caste divide in a northern village where Khurrana’s character, a police officer, was stationed.

Anek, which is being shot in the Northeast, sees Khurrana play a character named Joshua. The actor, who is sporting a new look for the film, has been sharing pictures of adventures off-screen such as a visit to Kaziranga National Park.

The feature film is being produced by Sinha’s Benaras Media Works and T-Series. Shooting for Anek began at the end of January.
