After a great deal of secrecy and much speculation, film stars Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif have confirmed their marriage.
The artistes shared on social media pictures from their secretive wedding function in Rajasthan, making their status as newlyweds official.
The wedding rituals were completed at 3:30 pm today, according to the ANI news agency.
Mirroring each other, Kaushal and Kaif wrote, "Only love and gratitude in our hearts for everything that brought us to this moment. Seeking all your love and blessings as we begin this new journey together."
The wedding took place under a blanket of secrecy at a luxury resort at Fort Barwara in Rajasthan. The couple tied the knot at an intimate ceremony in the presence of family and selected guests.
The pre-wedding festivities began on Tuesday 7 December with a mehendi ceremony followed by a festive sangeet yesterday.
The guest list reportedly included several prominent names from the film industry, including director Kabir Khan, actresses Radhika Madan, Malavika Mohanan, Sharvari Wagh and Neha Dhupia, and singer Gurdas Maan. Actor Akshay Kumar and actress Sara Ali Khan were also spotted at Mumbai airport today, leading to speculation of them attending the wedding.
The guests were asked to surrender their mobile phones at the venue to keep the celebrations private. The media was barred from entry.
Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif reportedly began their relationship in 2019 and were often seen together at events, but they never acknowledged it publicly until now. The actress even attended the premiere of Kaushal's latest release, Sardar Udham (2021), in October.
