The film takes its title from the moniker given to the PT-76 amphibious Russian war tank, which was a key asset during the war. Jointly written by Ravinder Randhawa, Tanmay Mohan and Raja Krishna Menon, the film's story revolves around the key battle of Gharibpur. The film will also feature music by AR Rahman.
Sharing the announcement of the date, Khatter wrote, "Blood sweat and tears. In the midst of the shoot and it’s already one of my best filming experiences so far. We’re putting in the work to bring an honest, visceral and authentic story of bravado and sacrifice, but also comradeship and brotherhood to the big screens for you.. and lest I forget - the story of an army family navigating a war."
Announced back in August 2020, the first look of the film was released in September this year.
