Someday, Sheer Qorma, Rettai Jadai in competition at BISFF 2021

The film festival will be held virtually from 28 August to 5 September.

The organizers of the Bengaluru International Short Film Festival (BISFF) 2021 have announced its list of films selected for the event, which will be held virtually from 28 August- 5 September. 

Shefali Shah’s Someday, Kaushal Oza’s The Miniaturist of Junagadh, Faraz Arif Ansari’s Sheer Qorma, Jayakrishnan Subramanian and Franziska Schönenberger’s Rettai Jadai, Bhuvan Sathya’s Pinni and Arun Fulara’s My Mother’s Girlfriend are amongst the films selected in the Indian Competition section.

Aside from the Indian and International Competition sections, the festival includes the Karnataka and Animation Competition categories as well as sections such as Kindness Matters, Short Export, Let’s Include and the Non-Competition Section. 

The festival has also included a section called Women’s Cinema Collective for the first time, which features films by women filmmakers. Celina John’s Jahaan, Radhika Prasidhha’s Appa’s Seasons, L Priyanka’s Newborn Poetry, Aishwarya Shidhaye’s Halal (Accepted by God) and Aarti Neharsh’s The Song we Sang are some of the films featured here.

The Academy-accredited event is an official qualifying film festival for live-action films.
