The first look poster of Shetty’s character from Nishabdham was unveiled last September. The poster introduced her as Sakshi, a deaf-mute artist who expresses herself through her art.
In the poster, Shetty is seen gazing at something offscreen and painting it on the drawing board in front of her.
Madhavan plays her husband in the film which revolves around the murder of a key character and the subsequent investigation to find the killer. The entire film has been shot in Seattle, USA.
Originally shot in Tamil and Telugu, Nishabdham will also be released in Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. The film has been titled Silence in English and Hindi.
Shetty was last seen on the big screen in a cameo in Chiranjeevi’s Syeraa Narasimha Reddy (2019) and Nishabdham will be her first major release after Bhaagamathie (2018), which is set to be remade in Hindi with Bhumi Pednekar as Durgavati (2020).
Shetty will soon join hands with filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon for a yet-untitled Tamil-Telugu film. Rumoured to be a sequel to Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010), the film might also feature Madhavan in a crucial role.
