During the current COVID-19 pandemic, policemen and migrant workers are the two worst-affected sections of society. Currently, in Maharashtra alone, there are more than 1,000 police personnel who have tested positive for COVID-19. Detecting the symptoms at an early stage will definitely help in curbing the spread of coronavirus.

Akshay Kumar, a brand ambassador for GOQii, a preventive healthcare platform, has donated 1,000 wrist bands to the Mumbai Police.

According to the company's claims, these wrist bands are enabled with sensors that can detect the slightest change in body temperature. According to doctors, the fluctuating body temperature is the first symptom of COVID-19.

The Mumbai Police department will be the first organization in the world to be able to remotely track and manage the health of its personnel via the GOQii preventive health platform.

Kumar was one of the first celebrities to donate to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund). He has donated Rs25 crore to the PM CARES Fund.
The actor has also donated Rs3 crore to the BMC  for assisting in the making of PPEs, masks, and rapid testing kits.
