After her return from London, singer Kanika Kapoor, who tested positive for the coronavirus infection, came in touch with 162 people, of whom 63 have reportedly tested negative for the virus.

The Times of India newspaper reported that a health team of the Uttar Pradesh government had made a list of people who had come in contact with the singer since her arrival in India from London and has tested 63 people so far. PTI had earlier confirmed that 11 of the same group had tested negative as of Sunday evening. The number has now been updated to 63.

Another PTI report quoted Kanpur district magistrate Brahmdeo Ram Tiwari as saying that "56 people had attended the housewarming party" organized by Kapoor's uncle, Vipul Tandon, on 13 March. As of Sunday, Tandon had also tested negative for any signs of infection.

Those who tested negative include two members of Parliament, Vasundhara Raje and her son Dushyant Singh. Both have already confirmed testing negative for the virus.

The fact that Kapoor attended parties in Lucknow after her return from London, despite a general advisory for international travellers to quarantine themselves at home for 15 days, earned her a lot of criticism online. An FIR (first information report) has also been lodged against the singer, who is herself undergoing treatment in quarantine in hospital.
