In a major development, well-known Hindi film singer, Kanika Kapoor has tested positive for coronavirus. The singer finally revealed the fact in an Instagram post, following some unconfirmed news reports about her being infected with the virus.
“For the past four days I have had signs of flu. I got myself tested and it came positive for COVID-19. My family and I are in quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward. Contact mapping of people I have been in touch with is underway as well. I was scanned at the airport as per normal procedure 10 days ago, when I came back home. The symptoms developed only four days ago,” said Kapoor in her post.
Speaking about her current condition, she added, “I am feeling okay, like a normal flu and a mild fever. However, we need to be sensible citizens at this time and think of all around us.”

However, there have been allegations about Kapoor avoiding checking at the airport. Poulomi Saha, associate editor of India Today news channel wrote on her official Twitter page, “Singer Kanika Kapoor tests positive for COVID-19. She had returned from the United Kingdom on Sunday and hidden her travel history from the authorities. Upon return, she stayed in a 5-star and attended a party with at least 100 people present. This is such criminal behaviour!”

Similarly, Pankaj Jha, editor of ABP News has also alleged the same. “She had returned from London just a few days ago. She has hidden the fact that she had coronavirus and stayed in a big hotel where she also attended a party,” he said on his Twitter page.
