With the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, both the Hindi and Marathi film industries have come to a grinding halt. Shooting schedules and film releases have been postponed until further notice. But there is no moratorium on announcing new projects.
So, producer Hariom Ghadage has announced his first production. The film, titled Hari Om, will be produced under his Shree Hari Studios banner. The film has been written and will be directed by actor Aashish Newalkar. This will be his first film as director.
Ghadage announced the project on 12 March, birth anniversary of the Marathi king Chhatrapati Shivaji, according to the lunar calendar, after laying the foundation for the renovation of Tanaji Malusare's house at Umrath in Raigad district.
Tanaji was a general of Shivaji who died a heroic death in the battle for Sinhagad near Pune. It was to commemorate his sacrifice that Shivaji renamed the fort from Kondhana to Sinhagad. The film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020), which was released in January, was based on his life.
Hariom Ghadage and his film’s unit helped to lay the foundation along with the villagers of Umrath. He then carried out a puja for his upcoming film where they also worshipped the script.
Except for the director, not much is known about the rest of the cast or the film's plot.
