With the situation not showing any signs of improving in the near future, it seems both the films stand no chance at the box office.

The fear of the deadly coronavirus is growing by the day with the increase in number of people getting infected. This has had an effect on box-office collections as well, with the scare growing manifold in a week in which the authorities shut cinema halls in around 60% of the country.
In such a scenario, one can’t expect any film to do good or even average business and Angrezi Medium was no exception. The film, starring Irrfan Khan, Radhika Madan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, managed a collection of only Rs9 crore nett on its first weekend.
Directed by Homi Adajania, the film opened at Rs4 crore nett on Friday. Normally a film picks up on Saturday and Sunday. But with the coronavirus fever mounting, the numbers actually went down on these two days, with the film collecting only Rs2.75 crore nett and Rs2.25 crore nett, respectively.
According to our trade sources, Angrezi Medium has been made at a cost of Rs35 crore.
Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 3, the holdover release, also suffered last weekend. After making Rs86.73 crore nett in its first week, the film could only collect Rs5.75 crore nett in its second weekend. The overall total for Baaghi 3 now stands at Rs92.48 crore nett. The film's budget is estimated at Rs100 crore.
With the situation showing no signs of improvement in the near future, both films may well be doomed.
