According to Koel Mallick, the lead actress of Soukarya Ghoshal’s upcoming film Rawkto Rowhoshyo (2020), the complete twist in the narrative appealed to her the most while reading the script. In the trailer, the sudden shift in an apparently linear story, focusing on RJ Swarnaja (Mallick) is apparent too.
Swarnaja’s brother (Rwitobroto Mukherjee) narrates the story as he begins to describe his sister’s compassionate, kind attitude in life in general. However, as someone else implies, while having a conversation with Swarnaja, her helpful nature perhaps brings her fate in her life with many twists, as suggested by the trailer.
The trailer begins with the moment of dramatic shift in Swarnaja’s life and career, as she receives a call on her live show, and the caller, a child, tells her that he wishes to write a letter to the Almighty. The call sets Swarnaja off in a journey to look for her own child who has gone missing.
But a conversation between Swarnaja and the character of Santilal Mukherjee reveals that the mother-son relationship contains more complex elements that the audience would need to discover.
The trailer definitely implies that the film simply doesn’t narrate the journey of finding the missing son of a single mother. Perhaps, it opens an opportunity to explore the darker alleys in Swarnaja’s life too.
Rawkto Rowhoshyo offers snippets of Swarnaja’s continuous battle with life and her emotional outbursts, but there are also certain visuals which appear to be crowding the trailer unnecessarily, as it doesn’t allow enough time to make sense of them. The editing seems to have been done in a hurry.
Rawkto Rowhoshyo is slated for release on 10 April. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
