The Akshay Kumar-starrer Bell Bottom (2021) will be the first film to begin shooting after the prolonged lockdown in the country to curb the COVID-19 pandemic. The film's unit will be heading to the United Kingdom later this month and begin shooting in August.
To be directed by Ranjit M Tewari, the film also stars Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta. A happy Akshay Kumar shared a new picture with the cast on Twitter and said, 'Looking forward to doing what we do best! Time we get back to work! Bell Bottom to go on floors next month.'

Bell Bottom, a spy thriller set in the 1980s, is named after the bell-bottom trousers that were the rage in the 1970s.
The film was announced in November last year. At that time, some reports said the film was an official remake of a Kannada film of the same name released in 2019. But Akshay Kumar denied it. Answering a query on Twitter, he had said, “Bell Bottom is not a remake of any film, it is an original screenplay inspired by true events.”
Bell Bottom is being produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani.
