Malayalam actor Anil Murali dies at 56


Famous for playing the cop in many films, the actor was reported to be undergoing treatment for his liver at a private hospital in Kochi.

Popular Malayalam actor Anil Murali, who had more than 200 films to his credit, died today at a private hospital in Kochi. He was 56. According to reports, Anil was undergoing treatment for a liver ailment.

The actor, who had a brief stint in television, made his acting debut with the 1993 film Malayalam film Kanyakumariyil Oru Kavitha. He then went on to establish himself as a prominent character artiste, who was popular for playing the cop in many films.

Some of Anil's memorable films include Baba Kalyani, Puthen Panam, Double Barrel, Run Baby Run (2012), Pokkiri Raja (2016) and Forensic (2020), among others. He has also worked in Tamil films like 6 Candles and Nimirnthu Nil (2014).   

The actor is survived by his wife and two children.
