Netflix to premiere Gunjan Saxena, starring Janhvi Kapoor, on 12 August

The Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020) will be premiered on Netflix on 12 August. The film, directed by Sharan Sharma, is based on the story of the first Indian woman Air Force officer to go into combat.
In a new Instagram post, the actress revealed her look as Saxena, along with character stills of actors Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi who play her father and brother Anshuman, respectively.
“A journey that I hope will inspire you the way that it has inspired me,” Kapoor said of the film.

Produced by Dharma Productions, Gunjan Saxena is the latest film to announce a digital release in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The biopic also features Viineet Kumar, Manav Vij and Ayesha Raza Mishra in key roles.
This will be Kapoor’s second feature film after her debut in Dhadak (2018) with Ishaan Khatter. The young actress also featured in the anthology Ghost Stories (2020) in the short film directed by Zoya Akhtar earlier this year.
