Filmmaker Digpal Lanjekar has finally released the teaser for his upcoming historical film Jungjauhar (2020).

After Farzand (2018) and Fatteshikast (2019), this is the third film on Maratha history by the director.

Jungjauhar is based on the battle of Pavankhind, where 600 Maratha soldiers led by the general Baji Prabhu Deshpande, held off 10,000 Bijapuri soldiers led by Siddhi Jauhar in a narrow mountain pass near Vishalgad till Shivaji was able to make it safely there from Panhala.

The teaser starts with Shivaji escaping from Panhala fort, besieged by the Adilshah's army, followed by high-octane action. We see Chinmay Mandlekar and Mrinal Kulkarni reprise their roles as Shivaji and his mother Jijabai from Farzand and Fatteshikast.

The teaser has a lot of action with a rousing background score. Just under a minute long, it still gives you an idea about the scale of the film. Though we don't see the full face of the actor playing Baji Prabhu Deshpande, our calculated guess is that it is Ajay Purkar. Interestingly, Purkar had played the role of Tanaji Malusare in Fatteshikast.

The film also features Akshay Waghmare, Astad Kale, Harish Budhade, Ankit Mohan, Vikram Gaikwad, Prajakta Mali and Sameer Dharmadhikari. Jungjauhar is produced by Almonds Creation & Chintamani Developers.
