The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact global events, especially film festivals, many of which have decided to take the digital route, while others have decided to postpone the event or hold a smaller edition this year. The latest in line, the Palm Springs International Film Festival has decided to shift the event from January next year to the last week of February.

The change in dates is to ensure the health and safety of audiences, participants and organisers. The 32nd edition of the festival and the awards gala will now be held from 25 February to 8 March 2021.

The festival, held in Palm Springs, California, will begin accepting film submissions from 1 August 2020.
